At 7:15 in the morning, a select group of pupils were training in the school gym with a professional fitness coach, who guided Hiba’s young athletes through a systematic physical conditioning course. These pupils form the very first cohort of the Hiba Talented Athlete Support Scheme (HTASS), launched this academic year.
At Hiba, we are committed to providing a personalised education for every pupil. Whether a pupil demonstrates talent and passion in a particular field, or has unique personal goals and needs, we firmly believe that Hiba’s diverse and innovative provision, coupled with our strong community spirit, will help each individual reach their milestones. Sport is an indispensable part of this journey.
Launched in September, the Hiba Talented Athlete Support Scheme (HTASS) provides pupils who aspire to reach professional sporting standards with personalised, advanced, and systematic support. The programme focuses on their long-term personal development while illuminating a pathway towards becoming elite athletes.

Among the first cohort are rising stars with national recognition in rowing, champions of the SSSA U19 squash championship, and core members of the SSSA U15 girls’ basketball championship-winning team.
Through Hiba’s wide range of sports programmes and competitions, we not only encourage pupils to go further but also hope they will continue to challenge themselves, reaching new heights on their journey to becoming elite athletes.
The HTASS programme also exemplifies Hiba’s holistic education ethos. Through sport, pupils gain genuine insight into the deeper meanings of success, failure, teamwork, breakthroughs, and perseverance. Whether in daily training with the school team, via inter-school competitions such as the “Hiba Cups,” or in their commitment to enrichment activities, we hope all Hiba pupils will experience the unique charm of sport and make it an integral part of their lives.
