As the sun begins to set on the academic year, Hiba Academy Shanghai is proud to announce a landmark moment in our school’s journey — our very first graduating cohort has achieved exceptional university application results. Our founding Grade 12 class, many of whom joined Hiba in Grade 6 when the school was first established, has received over 240 university offers from leading institutions across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and the Middle East. Even more impressively, our students have been awarded over 1.4 million USD in scholarships, a testament to both their academic excellence and the strength of their character.
These outcomes are not coincidental — they are the result of a strategic, student-centred approach, supported by a visionary five-year Higher Education and Careers Department plan that begins in Grade 8. At Hiba Academy, we believe that preparing students for university and life beyond school is not a last-minute endeavour, but a deeply intentional and progressive journey. Our students embarked on a comprehensive and thoughtfully designed careers curriculum that includes career exploration, psychometric testing, values and strengths assessments, industry field trips, speaker series, and internships. Each student is supported individually through a personalised counselling journey from Grade 8 to Grade 12, encompassing one-on-one university guidance, essay writing workshops, interview preparation, and course and country advising. We pride ourselves on fostering relationships that allow us to truly know each student — their dreams, fears, and ambitions — so we can guide them towards opportunities where they will thrive academically, socially, and personally.
